Major Ed Moss, Deputy Commander for Seniors


Lieutenant Colonel Edward A. Moss presently serves as the Squadron Deputy Commander for Seniors for the General Curtis E. LeMay Offutt Composite Squadron, and serves additional duty as a technical advisor for the Nebraska Wing Communications Section. Originally joining the Offutt Cadet Squadron in 1980, he achieved the Amelia Earhart award and completed Phase IV, earning the rank of Cadet Lieutenant Colonel. He holds master ratings in Cadet Programs, Communications, and a senior rating in Emergency Services.

Lieutenant Colonel Moss is a qualified Communications Unit Leader, Ground Branch Director and Ground Team Leader, previously serving as an Instructor for the Nebraska Wing Ground Team Leader School. His CAP decorations include the Exceptional Service Award, two Meritorious Service Awards, Paul E. Garber Award, Search and Rescue Award, Find ribbon with one aircrew find, and the Disaster Relief ribbon. He was awarded the 2004 Nebraska Wing Senior Member of the year and is the 2005 recipient of the Nebraska Wing and North Central Region Communications Officer of the Year.

Lieutenant Colonel Moss also holds Extra Class Amateur Radio Operator actively involved with the WB0CAP Youth Amateur Radio Club. His educational background is in Electronics Engineering Technology, and he holds several industry certifications including Department of Defense Information Security Professional, Cisco Certified Security Professional and Network Professional. He is employed by Infocrossing in Omaha, Nebraska as a Senior Network Engineer and also an instructor teaching Cisco curriculum for 1Staff Professional Development and Training. Lieutenant Colonel Moss is married to 1Lt. Laura Moss, and has five children, Genifer, Elizabeth, Emily, Aaron and Gillian, the three eldest of which have been involved with the Cadet Program.
